now....lyon, france

:)
this town is adorable. it is quaint and inviting....gorgeous rolling hills, rivers....i could go on forever. we arrived here yesterday by train, it was about a two hour train ride from paris. after getting off at the wrong train station (oops) we somehow figured out how to get to the one we needed to be at and then proceeded to walk around for a good half hour before figuring out where we needed to go to get to our hotel. we finally found it at around 4 (we had arrived at 1:45). best part of lyon is that the hotel/hostel was cheap enough that we got our own room!!!! now dont get me wrong, staying in hostels and traveling and meeting people is all what backpacking through europe is about but seriously, sooooo great to have 2 nights of privacy.

today we wandered around lyon and went to the fine art museum :).... the weather is perfect, sunny and warm. we had chocolate croissants and lovely coffee for a late breakfast, followed by a raspberry tart, picked up some sandwiches for later today and headed off to wander.
i could seriously get used to this.

tomorrow morning we leave on a 12 hour train to venice. 12 HOURS!!!!

wish us luck....

my apologies if there are weird looking or misspelled words in here. im exhausted (in a good way) and the letters on the keyboard are not in the same spots as the us....its crazy weird!!!!

and we have lots of pics to upload, just cant seem to find a computer that will take the plug in and let me upload pictures! ugh!

kisses to all

Hi Ladies! Glad to hear from you. Lyon is a great place. As a history buff,it was the center of the Resistance during WW II. Famous leader there. Hope you will get to Florence as art seems to be a priority. The Uffizi is astonishing but nothing can compare with the Academy with David and the half finished statues set to be in Pope Julius's tomb. Incomplete, they look like they are trying to burst out of the Carrera marble. What an adventure you are having? How are the feet holding up?
